What is covered under the tire manufacturer warranty?
Tire manufacturer warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship -- not normal wear, road hazard damage, or improper installation.
Tire manufacturer warranties vary by brand, but most cover the following:
Typically covered:
- Defects in materials or workmanship -- structural failures, tread separation, or bubbles caused by internal manufacturing defects during normal use
- Treadwear warranties (where offered) -- covering tires that wear out significantly faster than the manufacturer's projected mileage under normal conditions
Not typically covered:
- Road hazard damage (nails, potholes, curb cuts, road debris)
- Damage from improper inflation (severely over or under-inflated)
- Damage caused by improper installation
- Normal tread wear within expected parameters
- Damage from racing, off-road abuse, or use outside the tire's rated application
