What should I do if my steering wheel vibrates after new tires?

For larger and more aggressive tires, some vibration after installation can be normal. If you are experiencing a strong vibration or pull, check your lug nut torque and contact us if the issue persists.

Steering wheel vibration after new tires almost always points to a wheel balance issue on the front axle. Here is what to do:

  1. Return to the installer for rebalancing. Most shops will rebalance at no charge shortly after installation.
  2. Check tire pressure. Incorrect pressure can contribute to vibration. Verify both front tires are at the PSI shown on your door jamb sticker.
  3. Request road force balancing. If standard balancing does not resolve the issue, road force balancing checks for internal tire uniformity problems that regular spin balancing may miss.
  4. Inspect for damage. A bent wheel or a tire with an internal defect can also cause vibration that balancing alone cannot fully correct.

If the issue persists, contact us at 920-560-2430 or through our Order Support form -- we can help determine whether a warranty claim is appropriate.
